Canva is great for designing signs, but a few settings make the difference between a crisp print and a blurry one. Follow these steps before you send us your file.
1. Start with the right size
Click Create a design → Custom size and enter your sign’s exact size in inches, for example 24 x 18 for a yard sign, or 72 x 36 for a 3′ x 6′ banner.
2. Turn on bleed
In the File menu, open the view settings and turn on Show print bleed (Canva moves this menu occasionally). Stretch your background color or photo all the way to the outer edge, past the dotted line. Keep your text and logo well inside the edge.
3. Use high-quality images
Canva doesn’t warn you about low-resolution photos. Use original photos rather than screenshots, and avoid stretching small images to fill a large banner.
4. Download as PDF Print
Click Share → Download, choose PDF Print, and check Crop marks and bleed. If you have Canva Pro, choose the CMYK color profile.
5. Or just share the link
Not sure you got it right? Share your Canva design with us using the Share button, and we’ll make it print-ready for you.
